Discipleship Studies at University for This Fall

This fall several opportunities will be offered to help continue our growth as individuals and a church family to becoming more like the true disciples Christ called us to be.

Home Discipleship Meetings – Beginning September 13 small groups will meet every other week on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights at 6:00PM-7:15PM at several host homes with a casual atmosphere of community. These meetings will begin with a podcast from our pastor providing information and guidance for exploration and discussion within the group. Podcasts may also include music to set the mood. Groups will meet in Lake Charles, Sulphur, and Westlake/Moss Bluff to accommodate our membership, and although they are geared toward adults of any age, one group will be offered for ages 18-25 specifically. Come join members of your church family as you move toward deeper discipleship.

CIRCLE UP – A place of hope and friendship where people with mental illness and their families come together to find strength and community through faith-based experiences. Each Circle Up meeting on Wednesday evenings includes a meal at 5:30 pm in the Safe Harbor location of the church campus followed by an hour of fellowship beginning at 6:00 pm.

DISCIPLE FAST TRACK — A study for those who would like to read and study the Bible but don’t seem to have the time, Disciple Fast Track provides a quick journey through the Old Testament, providing an interesting review for those who know the Bible and/or an introduction for those wanting to know more. This study includes a workbook with short homework assignments and will meet each Wednesday at 6 pm for 90 minutes beginning Wednesday, Sept. 13 and ending Dec, 6, with no meeting Thanksgiving week. Those who have participated in this study unanimously respond that it is a most rewarding way to meet significant people and learn about important events of our collective history as Christians. A study of the New Testament will be offered in the spring. Facilitator – Linda Ritter
