Children’s sunday school
Children from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade are invited to join us for Sunday school. Located behind the cross in the Prayer Garden is a glass door that opens to the central stairway leading upstairs to the Children’s Department. The Gathering Room is to the right at the top of the stairs. At about 9:30 AM, children begin arriving in the Gathering Room where they will participate in a variety of center-type activities. Also in the Gathering Room, the children’s library has a large selection of Biblical and secular books and videos available for both reading and check-out.
Parents bringing children for the first time are asked to complete a registration card with basic information, including which adults may check out your children.
At 9:40, children are escorted to their age-appropriate Sunday school classes where the lessons are drawn from the Deep Blue curriculum from Cokesbury Publishing. This Bible-based curriculum is enhanced through activities, games and videos. Dismissal/parent pick-up time is 10:40. Please be prepared to check in/register your children on the computer at the children’s kiosk.
Your children are welcome to attend worship. We encourage you to sit near the front where they can see what’s going on. You are also welcome to send your child age 0-4 to the nursery during any worship service. The nursery is staffed by qualified childcare professionals and is located behind the Sanctuary. Please be prepared to check in/register your children on the computer at the children’s kiosk.
For more information about getting your child involved, contact our Nursery coordinator, Joyce Ceasar at email@example.com.
In addition to Sunday School, children have opportunities to participate in numerous other activities throughout the year. For more information on upcoming activities, contact our Children’s Ministry intern, Lauren Broussard at lbroussard@
