OUR VISION FOR 2019 AND BEYOND

CONNECTING PEOPLE TO CHRIST

We take seriously the charge to make new disciples of Jesus Christ. In 2019, we will:

  • Grow our present services with events to reach new people both inside and outside of our church walls.
  • Continue offering new learning opportunities for those under 40, create a Discipleship Pathway, and continue Mid|Point for the formation and fellowship of our people.
  • Hire a Children’s Director to serve the needs of young families and their children.
  • Expand our Facility to accommodate more guests and offer versatility in worship and discipleship opportunities on Sunday morning.

CARING FOR THE BROKEN

The opportunity to care for the broken is a central part of who we are as the Body of Christ.  In 2019, we will:

  • Make Mission and Outreach a central part of our Vision planning for the future by creating a new Mission Team.
  • Re-vision for new opportunities where we can reach the needs of people in SWLA in the coming years.
  • Continue our work with Circle Up, our grief support group and prayer team, providing care for those who are hurting.
  • Expand the work of our lay visitation ministry to reach and bless the sick and homebound.

 CHANGING THE WORLD AROUND US

Every church has the chance to make an impact on the community with the unique gifts we have and bring.  In 2019, we will:

  • Take on an associate pastor in July 2019 to start a new worshipping community as an extension of our church family in the growing part of our city. This is an effort to reach those that don’t have a saving relationship with Jesus, and those that are new to Lake Charles and need a place to belong in Christian community
  • Work towards literacy for the youngest and most vulnerable in SWLA through relationships with our partner schools. We will work this year to enhance and deepen those relationships.

OUR GOALS FOR 2022:

  • Worship: Grow our worship attendance to 400 both on and off-campus to help individuals and families take their next steps towards a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Discipleship: Create a Discipleship Pathway (learning and serving) through which our members can become deeply committed Christians.
  • Facilities: Renovate and Expand our facility to meet the needs of a changing community.
  • Mission: Create long-lasting partnerships where our members are engaged in outreaching mission on a regular basis.

As we continue to work towards aligning with our Vision, we will prayerfully discern how to realign our budget priorities to efforts that more deeply accomplish our goals and fulfill our call to love our neighbors in the name of Jesus Christ.

OUR GOALS FOR 2020:

  • Worship: Grow our worship attendance to 400 both on and off-campus to help individuals and families take their next steps towards a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Discipleship: Create a Discipleship Pathway (learning and serving) through which our members can become deeply committed Christians.
  • Facilities: Renovate and Expand our facility to meet the needs of a changing community.
  • Mission: Create long-lasting partnerships where our members are engaged in outreaching mission on a regular basis.
